Politics: State of the Union 2012

January 27, 2012 Leave a comment

Wow, what a powerful State of the Union speech President Obama gave us Tuesday night.  I hope most voters got to watch, read or listen to it. President Obama hit everything on target for moving us ahead for the future and rebuilding America and American brands around the world. He pointed out that jobs have been growing again in America and that manufacturing jobs are returning once again to the USA. President Obama’s speech was all upbeat very much like a Reagan speech. This speech pointed out all the good things that have been happening in America even while many in Washington DC are trying to derail this president from succeeding.

Mitt Romney offered a tough review of the president’s State of the Union speech, calling President Obama “detached” from economic realities.  I think Mitt is the one that is detached from economic realities. Mitt makes more money each day than most Americans do in a year. In one debate Mitt wanted to bet $10,000 with Rick Perry like it was a small wager. $10,000 is what some poor people live on per year. Mitt paid under 14% tax on his income while a hard working family pays closer to 25 to 30 %.

We need to re-elect President Obama in 2012 and this time we need to elect people that can work with him and not against him like the party of no has been doing!

Political: Don’t Be So Quick To Repeal The Obama Care (Affordable Care Act)

Let’s talk about health care again and theAffordable Care Act–you know–Obama Care.
Many people seem to have the wrong ideas about this program and, according to polls, especially those people above the age of 68. We know for a fact that many older people heard about death panels and have seen commercials scaring them about changes to Medicare coverage.  Yes some things changed but most of the changes are for the better not for the worse. This health care law will start to help keep costs lower once it kicks into gear. Many older people fell into the donut hole gap each year and that has been fixed with this law.

Political: Republicans Don’t Care For Working Families

What’s wrong with people like Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell and pretty much the rest of the Republicans? They all seem to have no shame in taking jobs away–or as they like to call it now on the right–careers away from people. Mitch McConnell and his buddies have no problem getting rid of a few thousand federal workers and Newt has this crazy idea to fire school janitors and let kids clean the rest rooms. Wonder if Newt can be sued when the kids start screwing around with the different chemicals and one of them gets injured or dies? My point is, out of one side of Newt’s mouth he says to the Occupy Protesters they should take a bath and get a job; but then out of the other side of his mouth he is willing to fire family men and women to give kids jobs. Politics: Is This The Election Of A New Party President?

December 4, 2011 2 comments

Could this be the year that Americans elect a president from a party other than the main- stream Democrats or Republicans? I see this year as the best chance for someone to break our two party system wide open. Our government is not working for the average voter anymore and many of us want someone who will fight for what we believe in and not just for big business and big banks. I think we will be looking at a strong four-candidate race in 2012. The Republicans will run either Mitt Romney (the big flip-flopper) or Newt Gingrich (the adulterer and also fined for ethical wrongdoing) as their choice. Being an independent I would not vote for either of these two guys but would feel better with Romney over Newt.
